"This was our first time in La Rosiere and it will not be our last. The excellent skiing was complemented brilliantly by the Chalet Gelinotte hosts who looked after us so well during the week." -

"We couldn't fault Chalet Gelinotte one bit! had such a wicked time! Already getting our heads together for dates next year. Joe and Hannah's cooking was too good...I've come home and realised how rubbish I am! we couldn't have asked for better at all, seriously you guys nailed it. Big thanks!" -

Welcome to Chalet Gelinotte

This winter season 2014/2015 will be our fifth season running the chalet. As an independent chalet operator we feel we are able to provide a more flexible and intimate approach to other larger chalet companies. We would be pleased to discuss any requirements you may have to ensure you have the best time away in La Rosiere possible.

Chalet Gelinotte sits right in the centre of the attractive, compact resort of La Rosiere in the French Alps. Known for its sunny aspect, excellent snow conditions and good mix of uncrowded pistes, La Rosiere is a wonderful family-orientated resort and is suitable for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. It offers the chance to ski into the Italian resort of La Thuile as it straddles the French-Italian border and provides excellent value for money with reasonably priced ski schools, hire shops and apres ski activities just a couple minutes from the chalet.

The History of La Rosiere

La Rosiere is a wonderfully attractive well-kept secret. A purpose built  resort, it has a lovely traditional rustic savoyard feel with low rise chalet accommodation built mostly in wood and stone. With 160km of pistes, La Rosiere is part of the large Espace San Bernardo, linked to La Thuile in Italy since 1984. You can have breakfast in France and lunch in Italy! The area is the origin of the loveable St. Bernard dogs, the cuddly mountain rescuers, still to be found in resort today. There are spectacular 180 degree panoramic views from La Rosiere across the Tarentaise valley to Les Arcs, up towards St Foy, Val Disere and Tignes and down towards Bourg St Maurice, Aime and Moutiers, as well as impressive views of Mont Blanc from the slopes.
